About the role

Chapel Electric is seeking an Industrial Electrician with an ISA Instrumentation Certification. This position reports to the General Foreman and is based in Dayton, Ohio.

Responsibilities

  • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  • Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  • Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps).
  • Repair and install electrical devices such as receptacles, light fixtures, light switches, lighting ballasts, and motors.
  • Assist in keeping building common and electrical spaces neat, orderly, and safe.
  • Accomplish work in accordance with blueprints, specifications, and national and local codes; update as-built drawings as necessary.
  • Attend Tool Box safety meetings and demonstrate safety competency, including topics such as harassment prevention and ethics.
  • Obtain an OSHA 10 General Industry Safety and Health standards certification.
  • Extended hours or weekend overtime may be available.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Previous electrical experience.
  • ISA Instrumentation Certification.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of customers and employees.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to walk; use fingers and hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
  • Frequently required to stand.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to move/lift heavy objects, climb vertical ladders, work at heights, and proficiently use common hand and power tools.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to commute to field locations and various job sites, navigating around job site locations.

Work Environment

  • May be regularly required to work outdoors, exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical and electrical parts; high, precarious places; dust, fumes, or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extended exposure to sunlight; cold and heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Pay

$37.25 per hour.
