Responsibilities
- Able to communicate effectively with appropriate departments/individuals. Thorough understanding of applicable devices in the facility
- Work safely to prevent on the job injuries by following safety rules and regulations at all times including proper wearing of company PPE
- Assist ARP Planners with scheduling and prioritizing maintenance activities
- Participates in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively upholds the CMC Safety Culture
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment, hand tools and personal knowledge to determine root cause
- Exercise judgement when troubleshooting AC/DC motor controls, PLC, electrical drives, and all high voltage systems, keeping them all up to the site voltage maximums. Able to understand electrical/electronical schematics
- Maintain a thorough and working knowledge/understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, distribution control, fluidic, and electrical systems/components and how they operate
- Maintains specified records of work performed, details of repairs, and material usage
- Performs necessary maintenance tasks including repair or replacement of damaged parts, adjustments and calibration procedures, assemble, install, test and execute preventative maintenance tasks on various forms of manufacturing equipment
- Provides technical assistance to maintenance and production personnel as needed
- Responsible for daily housekeeping duties including but not limited to immediate work area
- Use SAP maintenance module in the execution of duties, utilize computers to acquire information, documentation, account for time and corrective actions
- Works with related diagnostic equipment including digital voltmeter, paper recorder, multi-volt meter, oscilloscope, and other electronic tools and equipment
- Assistin installing and servicing motors, control panels, lighting, and wiring
- Collaborate with mechanical and production teams to support equipment performance
- Participate in CMC Safety Programs and proactively support the CMC Safety Culture
- Perform routine inspections and basic preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Support troubleshooting of electrical issues in heavy machinery, furnaces, rolling mills, and automated equipment
Requirements
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in heights for extended periods of time
- AC/DC troubleshooting experience required
- Electrical controls maintenance and repair proficiency
- Knowledge of the melting, casting and rolling process and related equipment preferred
- Minimum 3 years industrial maintenance experience preferred
- MRO system; SAP system experience preferred
- Must have experience with and the ability to demonstrate electrical and mechanical maintenance principles, concepts, and troubleshooting techniques including a working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
- NFPA 70E requirements preferred
- Siemens and/or other PLC troubleshooting experience preferred
- Strong multitasking abilities
- Thorough understanding of electrical safe work practices
- Basic AC/DC troubleshooting skills and ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Minimum 1-2 years of industrial electrical experience; exposure to steel or heavy manufacturing preferred
- Working knowledge of automation systems, VFDs, and instrumentation (advanced skills developed on the job)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in environments with extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust, fumes, loud noise, uneven surfaces, elevated areas, and confined spaces
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
