Industrial Electrical Instrumentation Technician - Central Florida

About the role

These roles are based out of our Central Florida plants and mines at New Wales facility in Mulberry, FL, Four Corners/Wingate Mine in Bradley, FL, or Duette, FL.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair motors, starters, drives, low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical systems, and instrumentation across plant or mine operations, including common voltages such as 480 volts and 4,160 volts.
  • Troubleshoot and assess electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems to support safe, reliable operations.
  • Adjust hardware and maintain the interface between automation systems and operations.
  • Respond to regular work orders and emergency maintenance needs throughout the plant or mine.
  • Perform maintenance on equipment that monitors flow, temperature, density, and pressure.
  • Complete safety-critical work processes, including Pre-Job Hazard Analysis, Lock-out Tag-out (LOTO), Hot Work, Hazardous Work, Confined Space, Water Safety, Line Breaking, Safe Work, Daily PM Inspection, work order feedback, and equipment or line isolation permits, procedures, forms, and reports.
  • Communicate daily with area supervisors to prioritize work, delegate tasks, and support safe execution.
  • Enter work order details, updates, and maintenance data into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in an industrial electrical environment or completion of an accredited electrical program.
  • Experience troubleshooting heavy industrial electrical equipment, including wiring and building motor controls from scratch.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to accept and follow all safety procedures.
  • Ability to safely move in and through work areas, including climbing stairs, maintaining good balance, staying mentally alert, using good visual acuity, and safely working at heights.
  • Ability to safely work in and around a heavy industrial environment, including moving objects, concentrated chemicals, and transport vehicles.
  • Ability to complete Pre-Job Workplace Examinations.

Bonus Points

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • IBEW apprenticeship experience.
  • Heavy industrial instrumentation experience.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) programming or software.
