About the Company

Mueller Sports Medicine was established in 1960 by Curt Mueller to fill a need for quality products for use in athletic training rooms. Over the years, the company has expanded to provide Quench Gum®, hinged knee braces, No Glare® Strips, latex- and neoprene-free braces with the Hg80 Mueller Mercury line, Soccer Care® and Life Care for Her® product lines, and Mueller Green™. Mueller remains a family-owned, Wisconsin-based company dedicated to the sole mission of sports medicine, with over 120 associates working together as a high-performance team in Prairie du Sac, WI.

About the Role

Internships at Mueller Sports Medicine typically begin in late May through early September. We seek academically strong candidates with a passion for their field of study. Internship opportunities are available in marketing, innovation, purchasing, logistics, information technology (IT), finance and accounting, or customer service. Interns can expect to virtually and/or in-person meet with associates, vendors, and customers to explore future career opportunities. If the intern chooses to take the internship for credit, Mueller Sports Medicine is willing to accommodate any recordkeeping or evaluation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Complete an assigned project requiring planning, research, prototyping, evaluation, and presentation of findings and recommendations to the Executive team (90% of role).
• Collaborate with industrial design, engineering, insights, marketing, purchasing, and external vendors to successfully complete the project.
• Assist with activities surrounding the physical product deliverable during the ideation and explore phases of product development.
• Partner with engineering to complete CAD work to detail the design based on internal and external input.
• Present monthly status updates as part of the stage gate process.
• Perform administrative duties such as creation of design of experiments and consumer research, record keeping, and documentation (10% of role).
• Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Completed one year of post-high school education and enrolled for the fall semester at a technical college or four-year university.
• Pursuing a degree in a field of study related to the area of the internship.
• Grade point average sufficient to be considered in good academic standing.
• Ability to understand and comply with Mueller Safety Systems and current regulatory requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous work experience or internships in the field or a related field of the internship.

Physical Requirements

• Ordinary ambulatory skills; ability to stand or sit, bend or stoop, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light weights of up to 20 pounds.
• Good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate office equipment, and read.
• Frequent sitting, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and hearing.
• Frequent typing.
• Limited business travel, including operation of a motor vehicle.
