Industrial Designer
About the role
As an Industrial Designer with DiMonte Group, you will get to tackle all aspects of the product design and development process, from early concept generation through production-ready geometry. Designers in our multi-disciplined team are talented, innovative, and results-oriented individuals who prefer to work at a faster pace. We look for individuals who are eager to develop their skills while contributing to real product development programs, and who can balance creativity with practical, manufacturable solutions. This is a position for those who enjoy solving problems and bringing ideas into reality.
Responsibilities
- Tackle all aspects of the product design and development process, from early concept generation through production-ready geometry.
- Translate concepts into well-resolved 3D geometry while maintaining design intent.
- Collaborate with engineers and other designers, ask good questions, and recognize what you don’t know.
- Communicate your ideas through sketching, visualizations, and presentations.
- Have a working knowledge of common manufacturing processes including injection molding, thermoforming, casting, machining, sheet metal, and additive manufacturing, and be interested in continuing to build your understanding of how products are made.
- Use Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) to create layouts, marketing assets, and product imagery.
Requirements
- U.S. citizen with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or similar, and 1–4 years of product development or adjacent experience.
- A strong foundation in core design skills including sketching, form development, 3D CAD (SOLIDWORKS preferred), and rendering.
- A curious and observant designer who pays attention to the details of everyday products—the things that work well and the things that don’t.
- A strong sense of empathy and ability to understand and articulate human factors, ergonomics, and user experience in your design work.
- The ability to confidently build mockups using foam core, wood, clay, and 3D printing to explore and validate ideas.
- A fast learner, able to navigate new tools and technologies, take on challenges, and contribute across all phases of the design process.
- An experienced user of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) to create layouts, marketing assets, and product imagery.
