Industrial Counter Sales

About the role

This role supports daily branch operations by providing exceptional customer service, processing counter and phone/electronic sales, handling inventory, and preparing products for delivery or shipment in a fast-paced, team-oriented industrial distribution environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality customer service while adhering to company ethics and standards.
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries, orders, and complaints using effective problem-solving skills.
• Provide accurate product and technical information to support customer needs.
• Process sales transactions and maintain accurate documentation and records.
• Estimate delivery timelines based on inventory levels, supplier availability, and production schedules.
• Conduct outbound follow-ups with potential and existing customers via phone and email.
• Receive, inspect, and stock incoming products; ensure accuracy and quality.
• Pick, package, stage, and ship products using company-approved methods and carriers.
• Support inventory management, including cycle counts and quality control.
• Perform assembly and light fabrication work, including hose building and operation of related equipment.
• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment in compliance with safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Participate in required training and collaborate with internal teams as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in industrial distribution or hydraulic hose and fittings preferred (Parker Hannifin experience a plus).
• Mechanical aptitude and forklift certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Skills

• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills including use of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), with a willingness to learn new software programs (Epicor Prophet 21 experience a plus).
• Ability to perform basic math calculations (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
• Detail-oriented with solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
• Strong listening and reasoning ability with minimal mistakes.
• Ability to learn and assimilate product knowledge and skills quickly.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with a wide variety of people and personalities.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and customer service.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Regular, on-site attendance required.
• Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, carrying, and operating warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts).
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with diverse teams.

Pay

$19 - $21 hourly, depending on experience.
