Industrial Cook - day shift
About the role
The Industrial Cook position operates and maintains computerized cooking kettles to manufacture starch gelatin products. Responsibilities include setting up and changing production runs, feeding raw materials, conducting adjustments, diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues, and adhering to company policies and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Determine and prepare production schedules
- Set up and changeover equipment for production runs
- Follow work instructions and standards for equipment set up and changeover
- Identify and resolve issues during set up and changeover
- Identify ingredients and product information for each production run
- Feed raw materials into the cooker and adjust controls to maintain product quality
- Communicate effectively with maintenance when necessary
- Solve problems by adjusting variables in standardized situations
Requirements
- Basic mathematical skills
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to understand detailed written and/or oral instructions
- Teamwork and flexibility
- Pass certification test on pallet jack and fork lift
- High school diploma or equivalent
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience in batch making or cooking in food manufacturing
Skills
- Basic understanding of equipment capabilities, standards, and proper set points
- Ability to solve problems by adjusting variables in standardized situations

Pay
$25.50 per hour
Schedule
This is a DAY shift position with hours of 4am-4:30pm. The position follows a 2 days on, 2 days off, every other weekend (Sat, Sun, Mon) off schedule.
