Individual Support Counselor - Relief

About the role

Riverside Community Care is seeking an Individual Support Counselor to join their community-based Shared Living, Individual Support and In-Home Supports program based in Norwood and serving the surrounding area.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance, education, supervision, and direct supports to individuals with developmental and cognitive disabilities or brain injuries.
• Afford individuals served the opportunity to maintain their physical and emotional health, live safely in the community or their homes, and develop the skills necessary for independent living and increased independence at home.

Requirements

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Basic computer fluency (including Microsoft Office)
• The ability to work as a member of a team and function independently
• A valid driver's license and regular access to a reliable vehicle
• A High School Diploma

Qualifications

• Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License
• Current CPR certification
• Current First Aid certification

Skills

• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental and cognitive disabilities or brain injuries
• Knowledge of community resources and services
