Indirect Procurement Director
Job Overview
Lead cross-functional strategic sourcing process for portfolio of categories assigned to achieve targeted TCO reduction while appropriately addressing quality and service levels. Categories Include: MRO, Capital, Services, Transportation, etc.
Work closely with functional stakeholders and suppliers to ensure effective strategy development and execution.
Work collaboratively with Cross Business Group Category Leaders to drive the overall company strategy.
Oversee development and execution of sourcing strategies for spend portfolio.
Achieve annual spend/value improvements across entire portfolio.
Drive working capital improvement strategies and initiatives.
Lead, motivate and develop procurement co-workers.
Attract and develop talent.
Deliver sustainable improvements to business results including; supply assurance, cost, quality, service and innovation.
Principal Accountabilities
Leadership and People Management:
- Lead, develop, motivate and assign people to appropriate tasks.
- Ensure career development and succession planning is in place for the procurement function.
- Ensure the right people are in the right place with the appropriate support to contribute to operating plan toward delivering financial results in line with agreed budget.
- Set a regular cadence for meetings, reporting and drive employee engagement.
Strategy Development and Strategy Implementation:
- Work closely with key stakeholders to develop and implement effective procurement strategies that ensure quality of services and improved value.
- Set clear standards with respect to Procurement and ensure consistency with Amcor requirements and standards.
- Remain current with market trends and supplier opportunities.
- Translate the purchasing strategy into concrete actions plans in order to satisfy customer needs, company targets and quality and standards.
- Ensure that Procurement is integrated in core business processes.
- Ensure that the needs of the Sites are effectively represented in the Procurement Strategies.
- Negotiate and lead the negotiation team to define the desired outcome of a negotiation.
- Manage negotiation process, content and results.
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Identify stakeholders; understand and interpret their current and future needs, and manage their expectations.
- Give advice and build long-term value partnerships.
- Collaborate closely with relevant departments to ensure understanding and compliance with key procurement strategies and policies.
Financial Planning:
- Develop annual savings targets through opportunity analysis and prioritization.
- Implement financial plans & budgets in order to meet goals, targets and objectives.
- Ensure that financial resource allocation is cost-effective and aligned with strategic and operational plans.
- Forecast, monitor, and communicate category value improvements.
- Provide periodic and ad hoc reports and forecasts on performance against plan.
Major Challenges & Complexities
- Coach and develop direct and indirect reports and utilize influence to manage alignment against agreed upon objectives.
- Develop trust within the businesses so that where there are conflicting priorities or other issues manage these to ensure that all involved understand the issues and agree with the solutions put forward.
- Manage supplier relationships in a way that encourages open dialogue and encourages cooperation in identifying and implementing win/win situations that add value to both organizations.
Knowledge And Experience
- Minimum of 7 years relevant procurement and/or supply chain leadership experience.
- Relevant experience in a company with a mature procurement function.
- Experience working in an international company.
- Proven leadership skills, influence and communication skills.
- University degree in a relevant discipline (MBA preferred).

Compensation
The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $206,300 to $257,900; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range $206,300 to $309,500 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
