Indirect Buyer

About the role

Eaton’s IS AER FED division is seeking an Indirect Buyer located at the Glenolden, PA facility. The Buyer will work directly with the Master Scheduler to initiate timely release of purchase orders and negotiate contracts for production materials, and will manage the indirect material flow for the site.

Responsibilities

• Analyze current orders, historical data, and other records to determine the best source.
• Maintain an adequate supply of assigned commodities.
• Reduce excess incoming inventory by continually reviewing action message reports.
• Maximize the value of each purchase consistent with the Company’s requirements and policies.
• Resolve problems related to selection of source, price, deliveries, specifications, quality and other terms with suppliers and various internal departments.
• Assist in resolving payment issues when they arise.
• Advise supervisor when rescheduling is necessary.
• Maintain part parameters with MRP.
• Determine adjustments to inventory as a result of scrap, damage or loss of parts.
• Support Value Stream Manager to improve deliveries and provide accurate shortage information when necessary.
• Create and maintain supplier schedules on a weekly basis to ensure accurate and on-time information flow to suppliers.
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives through kitting and value stream mapping activities as required.
• Manage Ariba system for purchasing.
• Develop and maintain purchase part strategy (PFEP).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in supply chain, inclusive of internships and/or co-ops.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
• This position requires access to export‑controlled information; applicant must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen/national, lawful permanent resident, refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158).
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.
• Only candidates within a 50‑mile radius of Glenolden, PA will be considered (Active‑Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from this geographical limitation).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Supply Chain Management from an accredited institution (preferred).
• Experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
• Experience with Excel using V Lookups and Pivot Tables (preferred).
• Experience with ERP System i.e. MFGPro, SAP, AS400, Oracle (preferred).
• APICS certification (preferred).

Skills

• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to work with company personnel and outside suppliers.

Pay

The expected annual salary range for this role is $71,000 - $105,000 a year. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
