Indirect Auto Lending Underwriter - Fort Worth, TX

Key Responsibilities

• Understand and implement lending guidelines to maintain acceptable credit risk.
• Ensure all loan applications comply with EECU’s lending criteria and state requirements.
• Respond to dealers in a timely manner on all loan applications and request necessary documentation.
• Work directly with dealers to resolve contract issues that fall outside of original approval.
• Provide assistance in obtaining chargebacks, dealer reserves, and lien perfection on indirect accounts.
• Build strong dealer relationships and provide assistance in calculating chargebacks and dealer reserves.
• Provide feedback to management regarding dealer performance and suggest adjustments to the indirect lending program.
• Comply with Federal and State rules and regulations such as Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, and FCRA/FACTA.

Requirements

• 2-3 years underwriting experience preferred.
• Patience when dealing with dealers to facilitate proper lending decisions.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Advanced computer proficiency, including Excel knowledge.
• Sales or customer service background.
• Knowledge of credit union operations.
• Experience as an underwriter, preferably with an indirect lending background.
• Analytical skills and a goal-driven mindset.
• A high school degree or equivalent, with a college degree or business-related education preferred.
• Availability to work Monday-Saturday with shifts starting between 8am and 11am, primarily 10am-7pm.
