Independent Living Specialist
About the role
The F/ACT Independent Living Specialists at Community Bridges, Inc. (CBI) work with Substance Misuse Impairment (SMI) clients in their homes or in the field to develop independent living skills. These skills include food shopping, learning bus routes, cleaning home, proper hygiene, maintaining relationships with supportive family, and developing community-based supports. This position requires being in the field at least 80% of the time, assisting clients in sustaining ongoing recovery and providing after-hour and on-call supports.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement independent living skills for SMI clients
- Assist clients in managing daily activities such as food shopping and household chores
- Support clients in maintaining healthy relationships and building community connections
- Provide after-hour and on-call support to clients as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate's degree or higher in a field related to behavioral health preferred
- At least 1 year of clerical and/or administrative experience preferred
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for helping individuals achieve independence and recovery
Skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
