Independent Living Advocate

Job Summary

Hello! I live in Wausau and am seeking to hire an Independent Living Advocate to join my team in providing personal care, housekeeping, and community integration activities. I enjoy music, fishing, being outdoors, and learning new things. I like to tease and joke around to connect with others. Responsibilities

• Assist me with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming
• Transport me to and from my day service program as needed
• Administer medications as prescribed
• Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with my dietary needs and assist me during mealtimes/snacks
• Teach and support me with learning new skills
• Provide community integration opportunities based on my interests and abilities
• Maintain a clean, safe home environment through regular cleaning and household tasks
• Provide emotional support and companionship to promote my mental well-being and build a trusting connection
• Observe me for changes in condition

Experience

• Experience working with adults with disabilities, non-verbal individuals as well as behavioral issues
• A compassionate, patient, energetic approach to caregiving
• Strong communication skills
• Reliability is a must

Schedule/Hours

• Monday–Thursday, 2:00 pm – 9:45 am
• Friday at 2:00 pm through Monday at 9:45 am
• Additional daytime hours may be available (information available upon interview)
• (2:00 pm – 7:00 pm)
• Flexible scheduling options choose shifts that fit your lifestyle
• Both day and overnight shifts available
• Wage: $16.50 per hour for dayshift plus a mileage reimbursement of $0.35 per mile, overnight shifts offer a stipend of $50.75
