Independent Contractor - Retail Food Safety Auditor - Denver, CO
As the Independent Contractor Retail Food Safety Auditor for the Denver, CO territory, you will play a crucial role in NSF’s mission to protect and improve human and planet health. You’ll travel, meet new people, and learn about businesses you may frequent as a consumer while educating restaurant, bar, grocery store, and foodservice personnel about specific standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform 2nd party audits for retail clients
- Summarize audit findings
- Communicate effectively with clients, Audit Delivery Manager, and Account Manager
- Demonstrate a high level of quality and integrity in daily responsibilities
- Overnight travel required
- 50% of audits will take place in the evenings or on weekends
- 10-50 audit hours per month offered
Requirements
- Must have a degree
- At least 2 years of experience in food safety, restaurant, or grocery operations
- Excellent verbal and written communication, analysis, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time, including overnight as required
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Prior food safety experience/knowledge
- Must live in the Denver, CO area to be considered for the position
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior food safety audit experience
- ServSafe certification
- Certified CP-FS (Certified Professional Food Safety) or capable of obtaining within 3 months (or equivalent certification)
