Independent Contractor Pool - Local Government Personnel Services (LGPS) - Legal Services

About the role

The Lane Council of Governments is seeking a legal services provider to assist with various local government projects. This position involves providing legal advice and support to municipalities within the region.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal consultation on municipal issues including zoning, land use, and environmental regulations.
• Assist in drafting and reviewing contracts and agreements between municipalities and other entities.
• Represent clients in administrative hearings and court proceedings as necessary.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex legal issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in law or related field.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Qualifications

• Admitted to practice law in at least one state or territory.
• Experience working with local government bodies.
• Familiarity with local government laws and regulations.

Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of local government procedures and practices.

$80,000 annually.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
