Position Summary

Inclusive Higher Education Solutions at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty positions, teaching courses and supporting diverse learners, including students with intellectual differences. Responsibilities

  • Teach no more than 9 credit hours per semester.
  • Areas to be taught include, but are not limited to: academic success, self-advocacy, student-centered planning, executive function, employment exploration, acquisition, and retention.
  • Instructors will need to be available for consultation with students before and after class.
  • Instructors will need to be available to meet with the IHES team for collaboration for student success.
  • Candidates may be asked to teach in person, online, or in hybrid capacities dependent upon course needs.
  • The ability to adapt and learn new modes of instruction, including Universal Design for Learning (UDL), is necessary.
  • Candidates need to be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse student population, including students with intellectual disabilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree
  • Possession of a doctoral degree or ABD status preferred

Terms of Employment

  • Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, usually on a semester-by-semester basis.
  • Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University’s benefit program.
  • All such teaching assignments are dependent on budget and enrollment.
  • Qualified candidates will be expected to teach in person/on campus upon hire.

Salary

The final salary is based on the number of credit hours assigned at a rate determined by university policy. Rate of pay per credit hour assignment can be between $1264 - $1482. For more information, please view the pay rates under the School of Education (SOE): Affiliate-Rates-AY-25-26.
