Inclusion Specialist (Jamaica YMCA)

YMCA of Greater New York · Queens, NY · 1 mo ago
Education$22/hrPart-time
We need to output HTML fragment with sections: About the role? The posting includes description paragraphs. We need headings: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. Only include sections with real content. Pay: The posting says "Part-Time / Regular $22.00 Hourly". That's pay info. So we can include Pay section with that. Schedule: Not given explicitly besides part-time; but maybe we can infer schedule? It says Part-Time / Regular. That's employment type, not schedule. No explicit schedule details like hours per week. So we should not create Schedule section unless posting actually states them. It does not give schedule details, so omit. Benefits: Provided: "The YMCA of Greater New York offers a variety of benefits to its staff members, including retirement benefits , medical benefits, paid time off, free YMCA membership, and more! Benefit eligibility is determined by an individual’s employment status (i.e., full-time or part-time), tenure, and/or the number of hours scheduled to work." That's benefits content. Qualifications vs Skills vs Requirements: The posting has "Desired Skills & Experience:" with bullet-like list (though not bullet). It includes Bachelor's degree required, ME, MSW/MHC student or graduate preferred, Minimum of two years experience, CPR certification preferred, ability to speak multiple languages preferred, knowledge of MS Office, strong interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, comfortable working with diverse youth and adults. That's qualifications/skills. We can put under Requirements or Qualifications. The instruction: Use headings for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). We need to decide which to use. Probably combine Requirements and Qualifications? But we should not create thin sections. Could have Requirements (includes education, experience, certifications) and Skills (interpersonal, leadership, language, MS Office). Or combine into one Requirements section. Let's see: The posting has "Desired Skills & Experience:" which includes both. Could treat as Requirements. Could also split: Requirements (education, experience, certifications) and Skills (interpersonal, leadership, language, MS Office). That seems reasonable. About the role: The introductory paragraphs about YMCA, mission, afterschool, inclusion specialist role description. That's about the role. Responsibilities: The list after "Key Responsibilities:" with many bullet-like sentences. We'll put each as
  • . Now we need to remove boilerplate: EO, drugfree workplace, auxiliary aids, application instructions, How to Apply, Job ID, location? Location is maybe minor metadata; we can fold into a short

or drop. The instruction: do NOT put Job ID / requisition numbers as headings — fold minor metadata into a short

or drop it. So we can include location maybe in a paragraph after About the role? But location is not a heading; we can include a short

with location and employment type? However employment type is part-time/regular; we already have Pay section with $22 hourly. Could include employment type in About the role paragraph? Might be okay. We must preserve ALL substantive information; do not invent or summarize away detail. So we need to keep all details from responsibilities, desired skills, benefits, pay. We must not repeat the job title as a heading. The job title is "Inclusion Specialist". We must not use that as heading. We must not include cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions. So remove "How to Apply:", "Click here for more information.", "If you would like to be a member...", "Job ID req3378", "Employment Type Part-Time / Regular Location Jamaica YMCA Queens, NY", "EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER ♦ DRUGFREE WORKPLACE Auxiliary aids and services are available upon request to individuals with disabilities". Also remove "Benefits:" line? We'll keep benefits content but not the heading "Benefits:" as we will use

    Benefits

. The line "Benefits:" is just a label; we can omit. Now construct HTML. We'll start with

    About the role

    then a

containing the descriptive paragraphs about YMCA mission, afterschool, inclusion specialist role. Need to preserve all substantive info: The YMCA of Greater New York is here for all New Yorkers — to empower youth, improve health, and strengthen community. Founded in 1852, today the Y serves a diverse population of more than half a million New Yorkers who learn, grow, and thrive through programs and services at our 24 branches. Community is the cornerstone of the Y. Together, we connect active, engaged New Yorkers to build stronger communities. To help fulfill our mission, we cultivate a culture of learning, leading, and collaboration to enhance community impact. Through our talented staff and “LEAP” career framework (Leadership, Empowerment, Accountability, Personal Growth), we are committed to a people-first approach that fosters trust, inclusion, growth, and development for all. Being part of the YMCA Afterschool staff team is a deeply rewarding job where you support children’s learning, help build strong connections, and have a positive impact on so many in your community. At Y Afterschool, we will create a safe and fun space for kids to learn and grow, lead creative activities, and help them develop valuable skills. This is an opportunity to make a real difference and gain invaluable leadership and interpersonal experience. The Jamaica YMCA is seeking an Inclusion Specialist. As a key member of our Afterschool team, the Inclusion Specialist will be instrumental in shaping a positive, supportive environment where young people can thrive socially, emotionally, and physically. They will help guide students in making proactive, positive choices and in growing their confidence, working alongside a compassionate team to create an enriching and empowering experience for every child. This role will include fostering a culture of mutual respect and cooperation through engaging activities and support systems for children with all types of diverse abilities. We need to keep that exactly? We can combine into one paragraph or multiple. Probably one

with all that text. Then Responsibilities:

    Responsibilities

      with each responsibility as
    • . Need to preserve all responsibilities listed after "Key Responsibilities:" until "Desired Skills & Experience:" starts. Let's extract responsibilities: - Actively welcome and develop programming in partnership with the Content Specialist to serve a diverse group of participants, ensuring our program is accessible to everyone in the community. - Develop and implement creative, inclusive outreach strategies to connect with and engage individuals who may face extra barriers to participation, including physical barriers. - Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where all young people and their families feel valued, respected, and heard. - Manage participants’ Individualized Accommodation Plans. - Maintain student behavioral support plans and logs. - Support the implementation of systems for tracking student behaviors and collaborate with staff, caregivers, and teachers to identify individual behavior support techniques for students experiencing challenges. - Partner with the Program Director to ensure social-emotional development and behavior management are infused into programming. - Guide staff on how to effectively implement behavioral strategies in the learning environment. - Communicate with DYCD about needs for specialized supports that are beyond the program’s capacity. - Ensure staff are familiar with common mental health support needs (i.e., depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, etc.) and a trauma-informed programming approach to support all participants and families. - Support the creation of a resource center for stakeholders to ensure ongoing support for topics and issues as they arise. - Provide reliable information about available resources and make relevant referrals for mental health services and additional services as needed. - Respond appropriately when time-sensitive mental health services are needed, such as suicide prevention, grief, and loss due to the death or incarceration of a family member. - Implement lessons and training on how to provide additional support and services to enable full participation for those with special needs, both physical and cognitive. - Conduct technical assistance with YMCA staff in programming related to behavior challenges, engagement, and social-emotional development. - If applicable, provide task management with social work interns to provide purposeful roles that support the behavioral, emotional, and physical needs of the participants. - Adhere to all Office of Children and Family Services, Department of Health, New York City Public Schools, YMCA of Greater New York, and funder standards, expectations, and regulations. Make sure each is a separate
    • . Now Requirements: We'll extract education, experience, certifications, etc. From "Desired Skills & Experience:": - Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, Social Sciences, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field required. - ME, MSW/MHC student or graduate preferred. - Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with children under the age of 13. - Current Pediatrics CPR or First Aid certification preferred. - Ability to speak multiple languages preferred. - General knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. We could put these under Requirements. Now Skills: Interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, comfortable working with diverse youth and adults. Thus Skills section: Strong interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, and comfortable working with diverse youth and adults. Now Benefits: The paragraph about benefits. Now Pay: The line "Part-Time / Regular $22.00 Hourly". We'll put in Pay section:

      Part-Time / Regular $22.00 Hourly

. We should not include Schedule section. Now ensure we don't repeat job title as heading. Not using. Now output only HTML fragment. Let's craft. We need to be careful to not include any extra text outside HTML. We'll produce:

Check that we preserved all details: In benefits we kept retirement benefits, medical benefits, paid time off, free YMCA membership, and more! plus eligibility statement. Good. In responsibilities we kept all bullet points. Check for any missing: The responsibilities list includes "Manage participants’ Individualized Accommodation Plans." (we have).
