Incident Response Partner Attorney
About the role
The Partner will work in a highly collaborative, team environment to provide legal counsel to organizations investigating and responding to data privacy and cybersecurity incidents.
In managing their caseload, Partners will oversee and advise Associates as they collect information needed to understand the issue and scope of each situation, engage and direct experts needed to appropriately investigate and respond to the event, ensure compliance with all applicable laws regarding data privacy event investigation and response, and communicate to regulatory bodies, law enforcement agencies, and other third-parties as needed while serving as the primary client contact throughout the investigation.
Due to the unpredictable nature of cybersecurity events, all Partners and Associates participate in a rotating on-call schedule to provide crisis management support to our clients that requires limited availability outside normal business hours.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and advise Associates as they collect information needed to understand the issue and scope of each situation
- Engage and direct experts needed to appropriately investigate and respond to the event
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws regarding data privacy event investigation and response
- Communicate to regulatory bodies, law enforcement agencies, and other third-parties as needed while serving as the primary client contact throughout the investigation
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to provide crisis management support to our clients
Requirements
- Membership in good standing to a state Bar
- Experience with cybersecurity law
- Exceptional analytic, writing, communication, and preparation skills
- Focused attention to detail
- Initiative and the ability to independently maintain their own caseload while providing guidance and mentorship to Associates at the Firm
- Preference given to those who have worked in private or in-house practices responsible for data privacy, cybersecurity, healthcare, and regulatory compliance, or on behalf of a regulatory agency involving data privacy and cybersecurity matters
Qualifications
- General 6-12 years of experience
- Preference given to those with relevant experience
