The County of Washington Behavioral Health & Developmental Services Department is seeking an Intellectual Disabilities Program Specialist to strengthen services for individuals with intellectual disabilities and support providers across the region.
About the role
This position focuses on reviewing, coordinating, and supporting Intellectual Disabilities programs within Washington County BHDS. The role ensures that services meet regulations and assists providers through planning, development, implementation, and coordination.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate the effectiveness of Intellectual Disabilities services and ensure adherence to rules and regulations
- Monitor delivery of services and support improvements across provider agencies
- Provide technical guidance in program planning, development, implementation, and coordination
- Attend required trainings including Certified Investigator, ODP mandated programs, and professional development sessions
- Assist with ensuring that program policies, objectives, and regulations are fully implemented
Requirements
- Two years of professional experience in the field of intellectual disabilities, and a bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of experience and training
- Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirement
- Must be able to perform essential job functions
- Must pass a background investigation, medical exam, and drug screening
- Must comply with Child Protective Services Law, including PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance
Schedule
- Full-time employment
- Work hours: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch
- Required to work outside of normal scheduled hours (evenings and weekends)
- No telework option available
