Inbound Material Handler 1st shift

Job Summary

Join now and earn a $3.00/hour bonus for all hours worked! Bonus is paid at the end of the contract and requires full contract completion to qualify. We are currently seeking Short-Term Inbound Material Handlers (6 months) for our 1st shift at our distribution center in Cumberland, MD. This is a temporary assignment with the potential for contract extension based on business needs and performance review.

Responsibilities

  • Unload live domestic deliveries from trailers using forklift equipment, or unload import containers by hand
  • Use our ERP system to systematically receive inventory accurately and efficiently, ready to be placed in storage racking
  • Move palletized product using pallet jacks/forklift equipment to organize the receiving dock, or transport product to other areas of the Distribution center
  • Scan and place inventory in racking locations using forklift equipment and a handheld scanning device, ready for warehouse operations
  • Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, and computers, following all established protocols and promoting safe working standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety guidelines and reporting any hazards to the appropriate leadership
  • Work closely with team members and leadership to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals
  • Abside by all company and warehouse policies

Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing
  • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
  • Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching
  • Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75lbs.

Experience

1 year+ of relevant experience in a distribution environment preferred but not required

  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, order pickers, etc.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Customer service-oriented attitude with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations
