About the role

The Inbound Manager ensures all inbound freight is received and stocked accurately within expected due dates. This role reports directly to the General Manager of the Distribution Center.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Inbound department team members.
  • Schedule inbound trucks to ensure a consistent flow on the dock while preventing detention charges.
  • Work with Purchasing and Accounts Payable to validate packing slip accuracy to ensure timely payment to vendors.
  • Communicate with internal Distribution Center team members to reconcile discrepancies on material transfer orders.
  • Work with Parcel, LTL, and Truck load dispatchers and drivers to ensure a consistent flow of inbound freight.
  • Ensure that dropped trailers in the yard are secured.
  • Hold team accountable for accuracy on the dock and put-away process.
  • Perform daily and weekly reporting requirements.
  • Ensure all stage bin locations are clean before leaving for the day.
  • Operate various types of forklifts; unload trucks, break down freight, stack freight, and put product away as necessary.
  • Lift 50+ lbs consistently.

Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor level degree.
  • 10+ years of warehouse experience.
  • Experience managing direct reports, preferably 20+ people.
  • Multi-shift leadership experience a plus.
  • Hands-on leadership; must be willing to perform physical tasks alongside the team.
  • Demonstrated experience training associates.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Passion for safety.
  • Experience with Manhattan WMS preferred.
  • Experience in a growing operation.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Physical Demands

  • On feet for up to 10 hours per day; standing, walking, bending, kneeling.

Schedule

Full-time salaried position, 40+ hours per week. Workdays are Monday through Friday with several Saturdays expected. Less than 10% domestic travel required.
