Job Overview
BioLegacy Research is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented In Vivo Research Technician to support preclinical animal studies. This is a hands-on, entry-level role focused on working directly with laboratory animals. This position is ideal for candidates looking to gain foundational experience in in vivo research.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with handling and restraint of laboratory animals
- Support daily monitoring of animal health, behavior, and well-being
- Aid in preparation of study materials, supplies, and procedure areas
- Support dosing activities by preparing materials and assisting senior staff
- Aid in basic sample collection (e.g., blood, tissues) under supervision
- Record observations and study-related activities accurately and in a timely manner
- Follow all SOPs, GLP guidelines, and animal welfare (IACUC) requirements
- Support necropsy and tissue collection activities as needed
- Work closely with team members and follow direction from supervisors
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Animal Science, or related field preferred
- Strong interest in in vivo animal research
- Willingness to work hands-on with laboratory animals (rodents)
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and learn new techniques
- Good attention to detail and organizational skills
- Reliable, team-oriented, and strong work ethic
PREFERRED (BUT NOT REQUIRED)
- Any exposure to animal handling or laboratory environments (academic, internship, or work experience)
- Basic understanding of research or preclinical studies
This Role Is NOT A Fit For
- Candidates seeking primarily: Cell culture or in vitro laboratory work
- Bench-based molecular biology roles without animal work
