In Vivo Research Associate

Under the direction of the Director of QC Bioassays or department Supervisor, perform general laboratory research and experiments following established protocols and SOPs. Assist with ongoing research projects either independently or as a team member, analyze and archive study data, and maintain laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and assist principal investigators with animal studies, including:
    • Dose administration – IP (intraperitoneal), intradermal, subcutaneous (SQ), intramuscular (IM), and oral gavage
    • Daily mice weighing and scoring after dosing completion
    • Assist team with daily preparation for dosing
    • Necropsy and tissue/organ dissection if needed
  • Observe and communicate animal health conditions to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain and archive all study data files (electronic and hard copies).
  • Follow relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Protocol requirements for all laboratory activities.
  • Learn and conduct new in vitro/in vivo models under general supervision.
  • Perform general lab maintenance and use proper record keeping (GDP) to document work activities.
  • Develop proficiency in JMP analysis and assist team members with ongoing studies.
  • Available for weekend work.

Requirements

  • Basic/general laboratory courses or experience (minimum required).
  • Bachelor's degree in biology or relevant field (preferred).

Experience

  • Some experience working in a laboratory setting (minimum required).
  • One year in related/relevant industry (preferred).

Skills

  • Experienced with research animal handling (mice, rats, guinea pigs, and rabbits).
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory practices and equipment techniques (e.g., handling pipettes, scales).
  • Prior experience with MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word).
  • Capable of basic dose formulation (preferred).
  • Prior experience reviewing and analyzing study data (preferred).

Pay

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr. Individual compensation will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, and internal equity.

Schedule

This is a fully onsite, contract position based in Newark, CA. Weekend work may be required.
