In-School Teaching Artist - Company One Theatre
About the role
Company One Theatre (C1) is seeking an In-School Teaching Artist to facilitate theatre elective and theatre integration residencies in middle and high school students in Boston, Lynn, and Chelsea.
Responsibilities
- Attending all classes to which you are assigned for the duration of the academic year
- Preparing and delivering appropriate instruction determined by the school and C1’s Associate Director of Education
- Handling student issues in an appropriate and responsible manner
- Maintaining ongoing communication with school personnel regarding school logistics, policies, and procedures in a collegial and appropriate way
- Attending all monthly scheduled teacher training/professional development sessions
- Attending quarterly meetings with the C1 Associate Education Director for the duration of the academic year
- Maintaining a shared document of your curricular goals, plans, and reflection

Part-Time Exempt
Compensation
Starting at $55 per teaching hour; $25 per professional development/meeting hour.
Box Office Associate
Company One Theatre seeks candidates for the position of Box Office Associate for performances of A New Era by Miranda Austen ADEkoje, directed by Summer L. Williams. Performances will be held at the Strand Theatre (543 Columbia Road, Dorchester).
Responsibilities
- Serves as the front line of customer service for audience members, prioritizing a welcoming atmosphere and the care of the C1 communities
- Checks people in for will call and processes day-of sales
- Assists the Box Office Manager with any box office set up and/or lobby maintenance
- Responsible for assembling clipboards, audience surveys and/or stuffing programs when needed
- Responsible for ensuring the house (audience seating) is presentable before opening to the public
- Enters completed audience surveys into C1’s online data collection system
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service job desired but not required
- Seeking Boston-based candidates or those who have their own housing/transportation in the Boston area
- Candidates from diverse backgrounds and/or traditionally under-represented groups are strongly encouraged to apply
Hours
- Paid Training: One meeting the week of July 13 – Time TBD
- Invited Dress Rehearsal on the evening of Thursday, July 16
- Performances/shifts: Evenings and weekends July 17 – August 8
- Call time for this position is 2 hours before performances
- Performances: Thursdays at 7:30pm, Fridays at 7:30pm, Saturdays at 7:30pm, and Sundays at 2pm
