IN-ROOM DINING ASSISTANT

Location: Milwaukee, WI (Froedtert Hospital) – on-site role

About the Role

This position performs food service duties related to the service of hot and cold foods to all customers, hospital patients, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities include serving attractive and nutritious food to patients while practicing proper food safety techniques and maintaining department quality standards. The role involves meal tray delivery directly to patients, verifying accuracy, and protecting confidentiality. Additional duties include assembling patient trays on the room service line, sanitation of equipment and small wares, stocking assigned areas, dishwashing, and overall department sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Serve hot and cold foods to patients, staff, and visitors
• Deliver meal trays directly to patients, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
• Assemble patient trays on the room service line
• Maintain sanitation of equipment and small wares
• Stock assigned areas
• Perform dishwashing and overall department sanitation
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of previous food service experience in a healthcare setting (preferred)
• High School diploma or equivalent (preferred)

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
• Ability to interact courteously with patients, visitors, and staff
• Accuracy and timeliness in tray assembly and delivery
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

Schedule

• FTE: 0.25 (10 standard hours per week)
• Shift: Rotating Shift 2 (3:30 – 8:30 PM or 4:00 – 8:30 PM)
• Rotating holidays and weekends
