About the role

On the Record, LLC is seeking an experienced Digital Court Reporter to cover in‑person appeals hearings in Sacramento, California. The contract assignment runs February 9–13 and February 16–20, 2026, with other full‑time work available.

Responsibilities

• Capture a complete and accurate digital record of the proceeding using approved recording equipment
• Monitor audio quality in real time and make adjustments as needed
• Log speakers, exhibits, and on/off‑the‑record times
• Maintain chain‑of‑custody for all audio files
• Securely upload and transmit audio and required notes following each day’s proceedings
• Adhere to all confidentiality and professionalism requirements

Requirements

• Prior experience as a digital court reporter (appeals or administrative hearings preferred)
• Proficiency with multi‑channel digital recording systems
• Professional courtroom demeanor, reliability, and punctuality
• Ability to follow firm‑specific procedures and reporting standards

Pay

$75.00 per hour
