About the role
As an In-House Substitute Teacher at STEM School Highlands Ranch, you will be expected to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. You are challenged with new teaching methods and educational tools in an ever-changing and strategic environment.
Responsibilities
- Adhering to the curriculum and lesson plans assigned by the regular teacher.
- Following procedures and achieving lesson goals.
- Assigning and explaining homework.
- Overseeing students outside of the classroom, including in the hallways and cafeteria.
- Complying with all school regulations and policies at all times.
- Taking attendance and documenting daily notes.
- Ensuring the classroom and work stations are kept clean and orderly.
- Overseeing the normal classroom rhythms and activities.
- Compiling a report for the teacher for when they return.
- Collaborate with colleagues with the intent of deepening pedagogical content knowledge, improving teaching practices, and creating problem-based learning opportunities.
- Provide accommodations and modifications for the growth and success of all students.
- Manage student behavior by establishing and holding students accountable to school rules and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution with a valid state teaching license and highly qualified content knowledge.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems and Google preferred.
- Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
Qualifications
- Ability to stand or walk for 90 minutes.
- Ability to run short distances.
- Frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, kneeling, crawling, squatting, reaching, and sitting.
Skills
- Ability to manage student behavior effectively.
- Knowledge of and ability to implement various teaching methods and educational tools.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.

Pay
The pay range for this role is: 37,214.42 - 37,214.42 USD per year (Main)
Schedule
This position will be open until filled. Day shift, Monday to Friday, School Year: 2025 - 2026
