About the role

This position is responsible for performing essential support work for all work performed in the main health care center kitchen, including the delivery and serving of food to residents. The In-House Pool Food Service Worker positions are required to provide availability for a minimum of four (4) shifts per month, two (2) being Saturday or Sunday. Schedule Days: Varies Work Hours: 6:30 am to 8:00 pm Hours Per Shift: varies Shifts Per Pay Period: varies

Responsibilities

  • Food storage, pulling, transporting, labeling, dating, pre-cooking preparation including equipment usage, portioning, dishing, service, storage, and disposal of food, and food associated supplies and equipment
  • Receive, inspect and store food and beverage related products delivered to the kitchen
  • Train and/or mentor new or inexperienced kitchen staff in all duties of a relief cook
  • Follow food handling and sanitation procedures
  • Prepare food items such as garnishes, salads, sandwiches and beverages for snack add on food items for household kitchenettes and core area
  • Monitor food distribution during serving and plating of food, ensuring that residents are served appropriate portions, according to diet requirements and with attractive presentation
  • Provide customer service to the residents
  • Maintain inventory and stock resident kitchen areas with required items
  • Wash and sanitize equipment, carts and work areas including countertop, floor and wall surfaces
  • Monitor dates, cleanliness, and record temperatures of coolers, freezers, and refrigerators throughout the facility
  • Transportation of unprepared and prepared food, equipment, carts, and residents as required during all department operating hours
  • Participate and/or attend all annual in-service education, as appropriate for food service staff
  • Demonstrate a commitment to county safety and risk management efforts

Qualifications

  • Some High School
  • Zero to six months of relevant prior experience
  • Basic knowledge of food safety required
