In-Home Sales Consultant
About the role
TerraFirma has been the Pacific Northwest's trusted name in foundation repair, basement waterproofing, crawl space encapsulation, and concrete repair since 2005. We're locally owned and operated — the leaders making decisions here are the same people you'll see in the office. As a System Design Specialist, you'll serve as a trusted advisor, assessing real structural problems, designing solutions, and presenting them to homeowners who have already requested our services. This is consultative, in-home sales with substance: no door-knocking, no buying your own leads, and no selling until you're fully trained.
Six weeks of paid training at $18.00 per hour while you learn our products, process, and ride along with top performers. After training, you'll earn uncapped commission on the solutions you design and sell. Last year, our System Design Specialists earned a median of ~$100,000, with top earners above $175,000.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of foundation, crawl space, and waterproofing conditions at customer homes.
- Design and present customized solutions that address the homeowner's specific needs.
- Close sales with integrity, professionalism, and a focus on the customer's long-term wellbeing.
- Meet or exceed individual revenue targets and close-rate benchmarks.
- Deliver a remarkable in-home experience from arrival to departure, explaining findings and solutions in plain language.
- Follow up on unsold proposals within defined timelines.
- Represent TerraFirma as a trustworthy expert and advocate for the homeowner.
- Accurately document all appointments, proposals, and follow-up activity in i360.
- Complete all pre- and post-appointment paperwork promptly.
Requirements
- Sales experience — in-home or consultative sales strongly preferred; we'll train the right person on our systems.
- Strong communication, listening, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and resilient under rejection.
- Comfortable navigating crawl spaces, basements, and uneven terrain during assessments.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet company vehicle insurance requirements.
- Willingness to work evenings and Saturdays as needed — that's when homeowners are home.
