In Home Personal Aide

Locations: Richardson, Carrollton, Dallas, Plano, Addison, Garland, and surrounding North Texas areas including Addison, Carrollton, Farmers Branch, The Colony, Rockwall, Mesquite, Forney, and others.

Shift options: Day shift, short shifts, weekend shifts, morning shifts, afternoon shifts. Open to both long and short shifts.

About the role

As an In Home Personal Aide at Visiting Angels, you will support elderly and home-care clients to help them stay at home or recover with dignity. Responsibilities vary by client but focus on enabling independence and safety in daily living.

Responsibilities

• Manage light housekeeping tasks
• Encourage clients to meet their exercise and fitness goals
• Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the correct times
• Assist with shopping, including putting away groceries or shopping on behalf of clients
• Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on their abilities
• Support clients with mobility and ambulation, including in-home movement, doctor visits, and walks
• Act quickly and appropriately in medical emergencies
• Report any health changes or unusual circumstances to the appropriate parties

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of professional caregiving experience
• Excellent time-management skills
• Reliable transportation to client visits
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response
• Compassion for vulnerable individuals and a desire to provide meaningful companionship
• Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards
