About the Role
Join Visiting Angels’ Montgomery office as an In Home Personal Aide and make a meaningful difference in your community while expanding your skills. We serve the Central Alabama area, including Auburn, Waverly, Opelika, Notasulga, and surrounding locations. This role is ideal for compassionate individuals dedicated to providing care to seniors and those in need. An In Home Personal Aide with Visiting Angels Montgomery supports clients with a variety of tasks, from light housekeeping and meal preparation to mobility assistance and transportation. This position also offers opportunities for personal growth, including advanced training in dementia and Alzheimer’s care.
Responsibilities
- Help clients take prescribed medication
- Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (e.g., doctor’s appointments, walks)
- Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
- Help clients with routine exercises
- Plan and prepare meals with assistance from clients (when they are able)
- Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop
- Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own
- Be a pleasant and supportive companion
- Report any unusual incidents
- Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
Requirements
- Passion to serve others—a true caregiver
- Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
- Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
- Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
- Respectful and compassionate demeanor
- Good time management skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong ethics
- Physical endurance
- High school diploma or equivalent
