In-Home Personal Aide

About the role

Visiting Angels of Lawton is hiring an In-Home Personal Aide to support senior adults in their homes across the local area, including Altus, Snyder, Cache, Lawton, Apache, Elgin, and other nearby communities. As an In-Home Personal Aide, you will help elderly and home-care clients maintain their dignity while living or recovering at home.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Manage light housekeeping tasks
• Encourage clients to meet their exercise and fitness goals
• Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the correct times
• Assist with grocery shopping and putting away groceries
• Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on their abilities
• Support clients with mobility and ambulation, including in-home movement, doctor visits, and walks
• Respond quickly to medical emergencies and report any health changes or unusual circumstances

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent time-management skills
• Reliable transportation to client visits
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response
• A compassionate heart for vulnerable individuals seeking meaningful companionship
• Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards
