About the role
In Home Patient Care Assistant - PCA at Visiting Angels Springfield offers compassionate care to senior adults and those in need. The Springfield Office Team provides caregivers for the Macoupin County area including Sangamon County, Menard County, Morgan County, Logan County, and many others.
Responsibilities
- Help clients take prescribed medication
- Absorb clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.)
- Absorb clients with personal care and hygiene
- Absorb clients with routine exercises
- Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
- Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop
- Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own
- Be a pleasant and supportive companion
- Report any unusual incidents
- Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
Requirements
- Passion to serve others - a true caregiver
- Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
- Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
- Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
- Respectful and compassionate
- Good time management skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong ethics
- Physical endurance
- Own a vehicle with current insurance
- Own Social Security Card

Pay
$16-$20/hour, $400 Sign On Bonus Available.
Schedule
Full-time, Part-time, PRN, Weekdays, Nights, Weekends, Varied Shifts to benefit everyone offering 1 hour, 2 hour, 3 hour to 12 hour shifts, You Make Your Own Schedule, Travel Time with Mileage reimbursement.
