About the role

Visiting Angels of Birmingham is hiring caregivers to serve clients in the local area including Calera, Birmingham, Saginav, Montevallo, Alabaster, Pelham, and more. Join a national network of at-home care providers.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting clients with light physical exercise or walks
  • Planning and preparing meals with clients
  • Handling light housekeeping duties
  • Reporting health changes or unusual incidents
  • Providing pleasant, supportive companionship
  • Responding quickly and responsibly in emergencies
  • Accompanying and supervising clients during shopping trips
  • Reminding clients to take prescription medications appropriately
  • Providing assistance with mobility and ambulation both at home and during appointments/errands

Job Requirements

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Drivers License, Car Insurance, and a Reliable Personal Vehicle
  • Training in First Aid and emergency response (provided if needed)
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to juggle multiple duties
  • Reliable transportation to get to and from client homes
  • Physical endurance for tasks like carrying groceries and supporting a client
  • Comfortable performing housekeeping and cooking duties
  • Willingness and ability to comply with health and safety standards
