Heartstrings Pet Hospice is hiring an In-Home Hospice and Euthanasia Veterinarian to serve pet families across Birmingham, Forestdale, Fairfield, Homewood, and Center Point, Alabama. Practice medicine without a waiting room, double-booked schedules, or corporate production dashboards—just you, a loving family, and the time to do it right. We are a privately held, family-owned, and doctor-led veterinary practice, and we do not use non-compete contracts.
About the role
If you’ve ever finished a euthanasia appointment and thought, “That was the most meaningful thing I did all week—I wish I’d had another twenty minutes,” this role is for you. We built this opportunity for experienced doctors looking to step away from the pace of general or emergency practice without leaving medicine behind. Doctors returning from a break or building a schedule around family are genuinely welcome.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-home hospice and euthanasia care with compassion, dignity, and respect
- Work independently in a mobile environment
- Maintain professional communication with team members and families
- Rotate weekend availability
- Lift up to 45 lbs unassisted
Requirements
- DVM, VMD, or BVMS degree
- Valid driver’s license
