In Home Caregiver - Housekeeper

About the role

Visiting Angels’ Anniston office is seeking compassionate In Home Caregiver – Housekeepers to support senior adults and others in need across Talladega, Munford, Anniston, Harpersville, Riverside, Lincoln, and surrounding communities. This role is an opportunity to give back to the community while developing skills in home care, mobility assistance, and companion support.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the home or for outings (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.)
• Support clients with personal care and hygiene
• Assist clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients (when able)
• Conduct client shopping or accompany them during shopping trips
• Perform light housekeeping tasks clients cannot complete independently
• Provide pleasant and supportive companionship
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergency situations

Requirements

• Passion to serve others with a true caregiving spirit
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
• Respectful and compassionate demeanor
• Strong time management skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• High ethical standards
• Physical endurance to assist with mobility and daily activities
• High school diploma or equivalent
