About the Role
As an On Call Caregiver at Jay's Legacy, you'll provide non-medical, in-home care to elderly clients, helping to fulfill our mission of Putting Life Back into Living.
- Be available on short notice for last-minute or emergency shifts for the entire duration of the On Call shift
- Develop meaningful connections with clients
- Enhance quality of life by bringing joy and encouragement, helping clients feel valued and involved
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Assist with ADLs (activities of daily living) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Assist with meal preparation, light housekeeping, and medication reminders
- Assist clients with range of motion therapies (may be physically intense at times)
- Administer bedside or personal care, such as ambulation or personal hygiene assistance
- Prepare and maintain records of client progress and services performed, reporting changes in client condition to manager or supervisor
- Perform housekeeping duties, such as cooking, cleaning, washing clothes or dishes, or running errands
- Transport clients to locations outside the home, such as to physicians' offices or on outings, using a motor vehicle
Requirements
- Prior caregiving experience (1 year preferred)
- Experience with sit-to-stand and lifts preferred
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
- Must be able to pass a caregiver background check
- Valid Wisconsin Driver License with no major driving infractions
- Reliable transportation with insurance
