About the role
Happier at Home - Eastern North Carolina is seeking a dedicated In-Home Aide to provide comprehensive support to clients in their homes.
Responsibilities
- Personal care tasks including assist with mobility, bathing/shower, toileting, dressing, eating, continent needs.
- Help with prescribed exercises.
- Provide or assist with ADL’s (Activities of Daily Living).
- Perform IADL’s (Instrumental Activities of Daily Living) essential to the client’s care at home.
- Record and report changes in the client’s condition, family situation or needs to the health care practitioner.
- Assist client with self-administration of medications.
- Supervise client’s activities.
- Perform home management tasks.
- Perform other tasks as assigned within the scope of their role.
- Follows the Plan of Care as written.
- Communicates ongoing with the Service Supervisor.
- Immediately reports emergency situations by phone to supervisor or office.
- Keeps an accurate time and mileage report.
- Fulfills assignments and regulations.
- Uses policy manual as guideline for service.
- Works within the organizational channel of authority.
- Wears appropriate clothing and ID badge when at work.
- Participates in the Agency QA Committee.
- Notifies the Agency of absences due to illness, emergency leave, normal vacation periods, or applicable meetings.
Qualifications
- Prefer high school graduate or equivalent.
- Prefer one year experience in the provision of care/services to clients in home care setting.
- Criminal background check, other required checks, Nurse Aide Registry & current CPR certification required.
- Must be able to read, write in English and follow instructions.
- A current driver's license and reliable transportation is required.
Functional Abilities
- Must be able to read 12-point or larger type.
- Must be able to hear and speak in English.
- Must be able to stoop and bend.
- Must be able to travel to prospective clients’ residences.
- Must be able to carry bundles weighing up to 10 pounds, upstairs.
