In Home Autism Instructor--Part Time
About the role
Trellis Services is hiring one-on-one instructors to work with children and adolescents (ages 10 to 21) with autism in their homes and in the community. This part-time position (4 to 40 hours per week - afternoons, evenings and weekends) is ideal for someone who wants to make a difference in the life of a child!
Responsibilities
- Work under the supervision of one of our experienced Case Managers
- Gain experience using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
- Provide one-on-one support with community independence, daily living and recreation/leisure
- Offer flexible schedules including afternoon, evening and weekend shifts
- Opportunities available throughout Maryland including Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, Howard and Talbot counties
- Advance into other roles at Trellis
- Build a foundation for a career in special education and related fields
Requirements
- Meet the minimum age requirement of 18
- Eligible to work in the United States
- The ability to pass a background check
- Minimum 100 hours of working/volunteer/personal experience with individuals with developmental delays
- Reliable transportation/Valid Driver's License/Current Auto Insurance
Physical requirements
- Variety of physical tasks based on specific client assignments
- Engage in pushing, pulling, lifting up to 35 pounds, and moving quickly according to client needs
- Be able to sit on the floor, stoop, stand, walk, and run
