In Home Aide Part-time

Richmond County Government is seeking a Part-time In Home Aide.

Responsibilities

• Providing basic home management services for the clients assigned including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, washing dishes, making the bed, laundry, running errands, preparation of simple meals
• Complete required paperwork on each client daily
• Recognize and report changes in client health and environment
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Observe and report indicators of abuse, neglect, or illness
• Arrange transportation for medical appointments
• Identify medication for clients
• Any other duties assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; OR high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year work experience as an In Home Aide level I; OR nursing assistant certificate (preferred)
• Valid driver’s license and a vehicle for use during work hours
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and have a clean criminal record
• Detail-oriented and excellent organizer, capable of maintaining accurate and up-to-date files
• Ability to handle money well
• Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with staff, Board of Directors, older adult clients, and the general public in both one-on-one and group settings
• Capable of working responsibly with confidential information

Physical Requirements

• Ability to bend, lift, stand, walk, and stoop
• Ability to lift 30-40 pounds on occasion
