About the role
Landon School is a boys school for grades 3-12 located in Bethesda, MD. The Auxiliary Programs department seeks several people to work the Before Care program on Wednesday mornings and After School/Extended Day Coordinator Monday-Friday from 3:15-6:15 M-F. This program is designed for boys in grades 3-8 and the purpose is to provide a safe, supervised space in which students may work on their homework, read silently, or relax after school. The position is a part-time, 9-month, nonexempt position that reports to the Director of Auxiliary Programs.
Responsibilities
- Supervise students in a classroom, on an athletic field, or playground
- Create a positive study hall environment conducive to academic and social success
- Provide homework help as needed
- Maintain accurate records of attendance
- Distribute snacks, sports equipment, and games
- Organize, and be familiar with, student emergency contact and allergy information
- Communicate with parents and ensure students are dismissed to the appropriate adult
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Experience working with children in an academic/educational environment preferred
- Excellent communication and customer services skills
- Ability to work as a member of a team as well as independently
Pay
The expected hourly rate for this position is between $22 and $25 per hour.
Schedule
Before Care on Wednesday mornings and After School/Extended Day Monday-Friday from 3:15-6:15 PM. Part-time, 9-month position.
