About the role
The Improvement Engineer is responsible for leading the plant-level improvement process by gathering and analyzing data, evaluating improvement opportunities, and implementing improvement projects while ensuring plant improvements align with business objectives.
Essential Responsibilities
- Leads continuous improvement efforts through data analysis, defining project scope, and prioritizing process improvement opportunities
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams (operations, tech center, EH&S, maintenance) to develop and implement safe and effective project designs
- Ensures technical integrity and effective communication between teams and plant operations through all project phases (including FEL)
- Champions process safety, managing key project responsibilities, and leading new plant product trials
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree* in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
- 3+ years of experience leading plant-level improvement processes in a chemical manufacturing environment
- Prior management of vendor proposals and quotations, contractor bids, and development of desired solutions preferred
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and work in a team environment
- Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license
*Degree must be from a school that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the Secretary of Education of the U.S. Department of Education or equivalent program from an international university.
Pay & Schedule
- Salary: $109,884 - $143,568
- Schedule: 9/80; 5-8s schedule available
