About the role
To provide customers with the highest quality service by ensuring consistent customer service and shipment processing for timely movement of freight/cargo. Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers' front-line personnel across various operating divisions and subsidiaries.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, and submit documentation to agents and clients in accordance with applicable transportation laws and regulations.
- Anticipate, identify, and resolve problems that could delay the timely release or movement of freight.
- Complete accurate data input or corrections into computer files and ensure all communication is updated timely.
- Perform freight forwarding functions, including coordinating customer booking requests, generating arrival notices, and billing.
- Complete import/export documentation in compliance with international trade regulations.
- Dispatch carriers to pick up freight from company locations and customer distribution centers.
- Track and trace shipments, including entry of all milestones and exceptions.
- Coordinate the distribution of emails and communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Strong customer service, organizational, and communication (written/oral) skills.
- Freight forwarding or logistics experience preferred.
- Basic math skills for conversions to metric and currency evaluations.
Pay
$17.89 – $24.73 USD hourly.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM, onsite.
