Import/Export Forwarding Associate

About the role

To provide customers with the highest quality service by ensuring consistent customer service and shipment processing for timely movement of freight/cargo. Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers' front-line personnel across various operating divisions and subsidiaries.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, analyze, and submit documentation to agents and clients in accordance with applicable transportation laws and regulations.
• Anticipate, identify, and resolve problems that could delay the timely release or movement of freight.
• Complete accurate data input or corrections into computer files and ensure all communication is updated timely.
• Perform freight forwarding functions, including coordinating customer booking requests, generating arrival notices, and billing.
• Complete import/export documentation in compliance with international trade regulations.
• Dispatch carriers to pick up freight from company locations and customer distribution centers.
• Track and trace shipments, including entry of all milestones and exceptions.
• Coordinate the distribution of emails and communication.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Strong customer service, organizational, and communication (written/oral) skills.
• Freight forwarding or logistics experience preferred.
• Basic math skills for conversions to metric and currency evaluations.

Pay

$17.89 – $24.73 USD hourly.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM, onsite.
