Responsibilities
- Perform customer coordination, Initial Test and Acceptance (IT&A), execution of all reporting functions, and complete data input associated with new service activations.
- Work directly with customers, solution architects and vendor SMEs to implement changes and also identify, analyze, and resolve issues.
- Manage Service Orders, in accordance with Change Management procedures.
- Ensure Telecommunication Service Orders (TSOs) are in place and accurate for scheduled network additions and changes.
- Initiate network device configurations using configlets.
- Analyze DISN and databases to validate and implement customer requirements.
- Design and implement solutions to highly technical problems through testing, documentation and modification of configurations on network devices.
- Cook up customer circuit activation with commercial vendors to establish the engineered solution for end-to-end connectivity.
- Perform network monitoring to assess if deployed changes have caused impacts to customer traffic using provided expectations of traffic behavior, lessons learned, and customer reporting.
- Utilize systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional requirements in support of customer resources.
- Engage with the DISA project managers and/or customers to resolve issues with incomplete or unclear requirements.
- Reach out to stakeholders and facilitate approvals as necessary to ensure continual forward progress of the service request.
Requirements
- Proficient knowledge of various network hardware equipment specifications, configuration and testing processes, and industry specifications.
- Knowledge of configuring, activating, testing, and analyzing network systems.
- Network engineering, problem management, and performance management experience.
- Understanding of basic telecommunications and information technology terms and technology.
- Knowledge of data and voice network design carried over various transmissions systems, router to router connections using military and commercial protocols such as BGP and ISIS, switch-to-switch trunking to include VLANS, and circuit configurations through multiplexers.
- Experience with network services (BGP, OSPF, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, WAN, VPN, VLAN, VRF, etc.) and network appliances (e.g., routers, load balancers, domain name servers, firewalls).
- Ability to work in a team environment, but self-driven to complete assignments while continually developing proficiencies in processes.
- Strong written and verbal communications, team building and collaboration skills.
- An active Secret security clearance is required.
Qualifications
- Professionally completed a Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with less than 2 years of relevant experience.
- Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Skills
- Prior experience at DISA, or knowledge of DISA systems and processes.
- Prior experience with SharePoint data entry.
- Experience performing customer outreach.
- Experience with DISA Request Fulfillment process and associate documents (TSRs, TSOs, completion reports) and circulars experience.
- Basic understanding of Department of Defense, its policies, and hierarchy.
- Basic understanding of DISA organizational structure and how different elements (DITCO, etc.) contribute to fulfilling mission partner TSR requirements.
- Network certifications: Cisco Certifications (CCNA, CCNP, etc.), Microsoft certifications (MCSE, etc.), security certifications (Security + CE, CISSP, etc.)- ITIL certification.
