Implementation Project Manager

About the role

We're looking for an experienced Implementation Project Manager to lead a high-visibility, client-facing engagement implementing a custom-configured SaaS solution for a major enterprise client. This is an external-facing role — you'll sit at the intersection of our team, the client, and the vendor solution, driving requirements gathering, solution design, and delivery from kickoff through go-live. This role demands strong attention to detail. You'll be tracking requirements, decisions, and action items across a custom implementation and translating them into clear, well-organized documentation — nothing can slip through the cracks.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary external project manager on a custom SaaS implementation for an enterprise client, owning the project from requirements through delivery.
• Gather and document business requirements directly with client stakeholders, then translate them into a clear solution design.
• Manage day-to-day delivery of the implementation, adapting your approach to fit the methodology the client prefers — Agile, Waterfall, SAFe, or a hybrid of the three.
• Track project details, decisions, and action items with a high degree of accuracy and organization, using Azure DevOps (ADO) to log and manage detailed notes and work items.
• Communicate proactively and clearly with both the client and internal program leadership, flagging risks early and keeping stakeholders aligned.
• Build strong working relationships with the client team, representing our organization professionally in a business-casual, collaborative environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Project Manager on vendor software / SaaS implementation projects, ideally in an external, client-facing capacity.
• Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to track and follow through on the details of a complex, custom implementation — this is one of the most important qualities for this role.
• Working familiarity with multiple delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, SAFe) and the flexibility to adapt to what the client needs rather than a single fixed approach.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable engaging directly with client stakeholders at multiple levels.
• Solid business acumen and the ability to quickly build credibility with a new client and industry.
• Experience with, or strong working knowledge of, Azure DevOps (ADO); candidates with hands-on ADO experience will be prioritized.
• A seasoned professional who can hit the ground running with minimal ramp-up time.
