About the role
The Medical Countermeasures (MCM) Team in the Physical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy (C-PCS) group within Chemistry Division is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with expertise in immunology or immune engineering to support ongoing projects in diagnostics development and next-generation vaccine platforms.
Responsibilities
- Lead experimental design and execution of in vitro immunological studies
- Contribute mechanistic insights into innate and adaptive immune responses
- Help translate immune profiling data into actionable diagnostic and vaccine strategies
- Act as a representative for the team by attending group and team meetings
- Report research results back to the team at weekly meetings
- Keep official laboratory notebooks
- Attend seminars that interest them
- Present their work at conferences and to sponsors
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in immune cell (co)-culture, in vitro immunization assays, immunoassays, flow cytometry, protein analysis, transcriptomics, etc.
- Demonstrated expertise in immune cell (macrophages, dendritic cells, T/B cells) biology, signaling pathways, cytokine profiling, etc.
- Willingness to work with potentially hazardous biological materials
- Proven ability to work independently and successfully as part of a team
- Demonstrated experience and familiarity with good laboratory practices and experimental design
- Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week
- Strong oral and written communication skills with a strong publication record
- Proven ability to manage time and see tasks to completion
- Proven ability to produce quality work by applying attention to detail
- Demonstrated competency with computers and software applications for word processing, data processing, statistical analysis, omics analysis, and data visualization
Qualifications
- Ph.D. from an accredited program in immunology, immune engineering, bioengineering, biomedical engineering, or related technical field completed within the past 3 years. Must have cumulative GPA of at least a 3.2 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
Work Location
The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM.

- Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. - No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.
