Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biological Sciences or related field.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine IHC testing in a high volume patient care lab utilizing IHC instruments.
- Processes, sorts, and stains tissue samples.
- Cuts paraffin-embedded tissue blocks.
- Prepares and changes solutions and properly disposes chemical wastes.
- Sorts, delivers and files slides and blocks.
- Accessions specimens into the LIS (Laboratory Information System).
- Assists with ordering, receiving, labeling, and stocking incoming supplies and reagents.
- Assists in the evaluation of new procedures or methods and testing modalities.
- Assists with quality control and quality assurance record keeping.
- Aids in training personnel as needed.
- Completes and organizes paperwork.
- Aids in maintaining equipment.
