About the role
The Immunization Nurse Lead provides direct, daily oversight of a small team of immunization staff at the Mesa Immunization Clinic, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the clinic.
Responsibilities
- Maintain full adherence to federal and state Vaccines for Children program requirements, including eligibility screening, documentation, storage/handling, and audit readiness.
- Supervise clinical staff, set standards for immunization practices, monitor employee staffing, attendance, and productivity daily, and provide coaching when needed.
- Provide immunizations to children and adults in a nurse-managed public health immunization clinic, including screening for vaccines, administration, and documentation into eCW.
- Manage all eCW and ASIIS vaccine inventory to include ordering, receiving, logging, reconciling, and separating VFC, 317, ARPA, and private stock vaccines.
- Avoidance of errors in vaccine administration and ensure all vaccines administered are recorded in eCW and determined vaccine eligibility to ensure correct use of VFC, ARPA, and 317.
- Generate required reports and submit vaccine usage, wastage, inventory, and compliance reports to state programs and internal leadership.
- Run reconciliation reports in eCW daily for quality assurance and vaccine accuracy.
- Collaborate with billing to ensure accurate coding and alignment between clinical documentation and billing requirements.
- Prepare for site visits by maintaining organized, accurate records and leading the clinic through VFC site visits and compliance reviews.
Requirements
- Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a community setting, public health setting, school, physician’s office, or other relevant nursing practice.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a valid, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse issued by the Arizona State Board of Nursing (or another state recognized by Arizona as a multi-compact license state).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing, Management, or related discipline preferred.
- Advanced experience as a Registered Nurse in a community/public health setting, school, or pediatric office.
- Experience functioning as a Charge/Lead Nurse.
- Experience with Vaccines for Children (VFC) program and Vaccines for Adults (VFA) program.
- Experience with electronic medical record systems.
- Experience with Arizona State Immunization Information System (ASIIS).
Skills
- Strong organizational and communication skills.

Pay
Anticipated Hiring Range: $91,000 - $105,250 annually
Full Pay Range: $91,000 - $119,500 annually
Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification.
Schedule
Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. Incumbent may be subjected to extreme temperatures, wetness, humidity, respiratory hazards, noise, and vibration.
