Immigration Paralegal (Removal Defense)

The Law Firm of Moumita Rahman is a thriving immigration law practice in New York City dedicated to empowering individuals and families navigating the immigration process. This full‑time, in‑office role offers a collaborative, mission‑driven environment where you will support attorneys on humanitarian, family‑based, and removal defense cases.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with clients to gather documentation and finalize legal packets for VAWA, T visas, U visas, Adjustment of Status, and removal defense cases
• Draft and edit affidavits, immigration forms, and supporting documentation
• Manage case files and track key deadlines for filings, court appearances, and USCIS submissions
• Perform legal research to support attorneys on complex or time‑sensitive matters
• Address client needs with empathy, efficiency, and excellence
• Contribute positively to a highly structured and collaborative team environment

Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience in immigration law, especially in removal defense and humanitarian applications (VAWA, U visas, T visas)
• Fluency in Spanish (written and verbal)

• Clear, professional, and compassionate communication
• Highly organized and comfortable using legal and office software, including Microsoft Office

Schedule

In‑office, Monday–Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM in New York City.
