About the role

The Legal Writer will draft correspondence and memoranda relevant to the firm’s immigration practice, collaborate with immigration attorneys, and adhere to government deadlines. This position may be remote, but the successful candidate must reside in a state where Ogletree Deakins has a physical office.

Responsibilities

• Draft correspondence and memoranda for immigration matters.
• Collaborate with immigration attorneys to develop case strategies.
• Research law, investigate facts, and prepare documents to assist attorneys.
• Translate complex facts into clear, persuasive content for adjudicating officers.
• Adhere to strict government deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program.
• 4+ years of paralegal experience in a business immigration practice.
• Proven experience researching law, investigating facts, and preparing legal documents.

Skills

• Excellent proofreading, editing, and reading comprehension.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to translate complex information into understandable and persuasive content.

• Colorado: $76,080 – $114,120
• New York State: $69,360 – $125,880
• California: $71,600 – $125,880
• Washington: $79,840 – $119,760
• District of Columbia: $79,840 – $119,760
• Baltimore, Maryland: $71,600 – $107,400
• Illinois: $79,840 – $119,760

Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
